Emilia Ilke (b.1984) is born in Uppsala and lives in Stockholm, Sweden. She has previously studied at Wiks Folkhögskola and is currently a student att Gerleborgsskolan in Stockholm.
Emilia’s paintings are about meetings, and the lack of meetings. The works become desolate and empty, and her paintings bring out emotions of loneliness and exclusion.
Emilia paint still lifes of everyday life. Arid, barren environments, topped by a dishcloth blue sky. Seemingly innocent scenes from everyday life intended to remind us about things we don´t want to think about.
